Story
Okay so 1 bike wasn’t enough… So I got another one. But, this one is smol. My Ninja 500 was 451cc, but my new toy was only 125cc.
If you don’t know, the Honda Grom is a compact mini motorcycle. They’re fun to put around town in, or (my use case) to learn how to stunt & wheelie.
So, I ended up buying a 2020 Honda Grom (SF generation) with 2500 miles off of FB Marketplace. It felt a little clunky and had been dropped, but otherwise it was stock & ready to go.
Wheelie Practice
Once I got it home, I went to an empty parking lot to learn how to wheelie.
A few hours later, I realized it was not as easy as those vids on IG make it out to be.
I kept on practicing for months, making small improvements over time. I’m just about able to stay in balance point, but I want to keep practicing and be able to do tricks like knee knocker wheelies, hand drags, and high chairs.
I’ll just have to keep putting in seat time, sounds fun to me!
Mods
Most of these are stunt related
- 60% stiffer clutch springs + lifter plate
- 14 tooth front sprocket
- 12-bar subframe aka wheelie bar
- grombeardo oil pump
- tst integrated tail light + blinker relay

- brake pad replacement + service
- axle + handlebar sliders
